How do I view a list of deals from the Dealio Community?
To view a list of deals, just click on the "View all deals" link or click on the Deals tab from the Dealio.com home page.

How do I find specific deals from the Dealio Community?
The easiest way to find specific deals are to enter the keywords in the search box located on the Dealio.com home page or the Deals page after clicking the Deals tab.

How do I sort the deals I find?
Deals can be sorted by the following: Recently added, Recently revised, Highest rated and Most saved. "Most Saved" is unique to the Dealio Community in that you can report how much you saved as well as view how much the community has saved as a group.

What are Deal Types?
Deals can have various Deal Types associated with them. To see a complete description for Deal Types, please reference the Help FAQ for Deal Type Options.

How do I see deals that only contain the Deal Types I'm interested in?
Select each of the Deal Types you would like to see by checking their associated checkbox. Only these types of deals will be displayed when viewing and searching for deals.

How do I see deals for only a single Deal Type?
If you would like to see deals for a single Deal Type, click on the link for the type you would like to see. Click on the "Show multiple deal types" link to see all the deal types again.

What are Tags?
Tags refer to the descriptive keywords a user enters when posting or revising a deal. These are otherwise known as Product Tags and will be displayed as Popular Tags on the View Deals page and any Results page.

What Stores have deals from the Dealio Community?
Stores that have deals are displayed in the Hot Stores cloud on the View Deals page and any Results page. Just click on a store to view its current deals.

What do the Thumbs Up and Thumbs Down deal ratings represent?
Thumbs Up represents a single positive vote from a member of the Dealio Community for a deal. Users will give a deal a Thumbs Up if they like it or give it a Thumbs Down if they don’t.

What is the Expiration Date for a deal?
The expiration date represents the last day a user can expect to get the deal.

How do I know who posted the deal?
The user who posted the deal will be included in the deal information to the right of the list of deals being viewed.

How do I get the deal I find?
If the deal is an online deal and the user provided a link, you can click on the "Get this Deal" button which will open the Web site that offers the deal. If the deal is offline, you will need to read the instructions on the deal page to learn how to get it.

How do I know who contributed to the deal?
When viewing a deal, a full list of contributors are visible. This includes the person who posted the deal as well as the person who revised the deal.

How do I become a contributor?
All you have to do is post or revise a deal to become a contributor.

What are props?
Props are points contributors get from other users in appreciation for the deals they bring to the Dealio Community.

How do I give props?
When viewing a deal, you can give props to the user who posted the deal or to everyone who contributed to the deal. This includes the user who posted the deal and all users who revised the deal. A single point will be given to each user.

What are savings?
Savings represent how much a user has saved the Dealio Community on a deal. Community Savings is how much the Community has saved as a group, while My Savings is how much you have saved individually.

How do I submit my savings on a deal?
To submit your savings, enter the amount saved on the deal page being viewed and click submit. You need to be a member of the Dealio Community to submit savings for a deal.

How do I Post a Comment for a deal?
To post a comment for a deal, click on the "Post Comment" button or the "Post a comment" link on the deal page being viewed. You need to be a member of the Dealio Community to post a comment for a deal.

How do I vote Thumbs Up or Thumbs Down for a deal?
To give a deal Thumbs Up or Thumbs Down, click on the associated icon on the deal page being viewed. You do not need to be a member of the Dealio Community to give a deal Thumbs Up or Thumbs Down.. If you are a member, other users will be able to see the deals that you liked when viewing your User Profile.

How do I share the deal I find with a friend?
To share a deal with a friend, click the "Share Deal" or "Share this Deal" button on the deal page being viewed. You do not need to be a member of the Dealio Community to share a deal with a friend.

How do I flag a deal for abuse if the deal content violates the Terms of Use?
To flag a deal that you believe has been abused, you can click on the "flag for abuse" link on the deal page being viewed.

What is a Step-by-Step list?
A Step-by-step list outlines the steps needed for a user to get the deal. If a user has created a list when posting or revising a deal, it will be displayed on the deal page being viewed.

What is a Deal Math Dealistration?
A Deal Math Dealistration is a visual explanation of what a user can expect to save by taking advantage of the deal.

What are the Coupon Codes(s), Coupon Link(s) or Mail-in-Rebate Link(s) as displayed on the deal page being viewed?
The Coupon Code(s) are the codes you will need to enter after clicking on the link to "Get this Deal" at the Web site where the deal is available. The Coupon Link(s) will open up a Web site where you can print the coupon to bring to with you "In-store" to get the deal. They may also contain a coupon code to get the deal online if the user did not enter a Coupon Code for the deal posted. The Mail-In-Rebate Link(s) will open a Web site where you can print a rebate form you will need to fill out and send via mail for the deal posted.

From the home page, you can click on the "Post Deals" link located below the list of Featured Deals, or you can click the "Post a Deal" button after clicking the Deals tab from any page.

How do I sign up for the Dealio Community?
To sign up, just click on the Register link located at the top of any Dealio.com page.

What information will I need to provide when I sign up?
You will need to provide the following:
  • Username: All usernames must begin with a letter, contain a minimum of 2 characters and can only contain: letters, numbers, spaces, underscores and points.
  • Valid email address.
  • Password: All passwords must be at least 6 characters long and can only contain letters and numbers.

How do I login to the Dealio Community?
To login, just click the "Sign in" link located at the top of any Dealio.com Web page and enter your username and password. If you like, you can check "Remember me" so you will not need to enter this information when you visit the Dealio Community again.

The Deal Summary sums up the most important information so users know exactly what the deal offers.

How do I enter the Expiration Date?
Enter the date in "Month, Date, Year (e.g. Nov. 22, 2006)" format or click on the calendar icon to access an easy to use calendar tool to choose the expiration date manually.

What options are available for Deal Types in relation to the deal I am posting?
The following options are available when you choose the associated deal types for the deal you are posting:

Location You can only choose one of these options.
  • Online: Choose this if the deal is available only online.
    Options available:
    • Deal Link: Enter web address for the store where the deal is available.
  • Brick & Mortar: Choose this if the deal is only available in-store.
    Options available:
    • None
  • Both: Choose this if the deal is available online and in-store.
    Options available:
    • Deal Link: Enter web address for the store where the deal is available.
Savings: Choose all that apply to your deal.
  • Instant Savings: Choose this if the user does not require a coupon or rebate to get the deal. This can be a "Sale" item for example. Options available:
    • None
  • Buy/Get: Choose this if the deal requires that a user has to buy something to get something.
    Options available:
    • Buy: Enter a positive number for the item(s) a user will need to buy with the deal.
    • Get: Enter a positive number for the item(s) a user will get from the deal.
    • Buy/Get Types:
      • FREE: Choose this Buy/Get Type if the user will get the item(s) for free.
      • Half Price: Choose this if the user will get the item(s) for half price.
      • Other: Choose this and a short description for what the user can expect to get for buying the item(s), e.g. 50 dollars off.
  • FREE: Choose this if the user will get the deal for FREE.
    Options available:
    • None
  • Make Money: Choose this if the user will make money when they get the deal.
    Options available:
    • None

  • Coupon: Choose this if you have a coupon for the deal.
    Add a coupon code: Click this link if you have a coupon code you'd like to provide?
    • Coupon code: Enter the code associated with the coupon.
    • Coupon details: Enter the details for coupon you are posting.
    Add a link to a printable coupon: Click this link if you have a web address for the coupon you are posting.
    • Coupon Link: Enter the web address to get the printable coupon.
    • Coupon details: Enter the details for the coupon you are posting.
  • Mail-in Rebate: Choose this if you have a mail-in rebate for the deal.
    Add a link to a printable rebate form: Click this link if you have a web address for a mail-in-rebate form you are posting.
    • Mail-in Rebate Link: Enter the web address to get the printable rebate form.
    • Rebate details: Enter the details for the mail-in rebate form you are posting.
  • Price Match: Choose this if the user can expect to get price matching when they get the deal.

  • Misprint: Choose this if the deal you are posting involves a misprint.
    Options available: None

What information do I need to provide for the Product name?
Enter as much information as you can about the Product including manufacturer, product name, and model number.

What are Product Tags?
Product Tags are descriptive keywords that describe the product associated with deal.

How do I enter Product Tags?
Product Tags can be entered when posting or revising a deal. They can be up to 64 characters and can contain multiple words per tag. To enter multiple tags, separate the tags with commas (e.g. shirt, large, button down, cotton).

How do I add a Dealistration to a deal?
Click on the link to either "Add a Step-by-step list" or "Add a Deal Math explanation".

How do I create a Deal Math explanation?
You can create a Deal Math explanation after clicking on the link to add when you are posting or revising a deal. Enter a Deal Math Title for your explanation in the field provided.

Initial Price: This will be the first box displayed in the Deal Math Explanation. Enter the amount in the field provided and the Store Name in the field next to it.

Add to math options: The following methods and savings can be added to the Initial Price for the Deal Math explanation:
  • Price Match: Click this link if you would like to add price matching to the explanation.
    • Mouse over the Price Match boxes in the equation and enter the following: Amount for the Lower Price, Store Name and the Price Match % (e.g. 110)
  • Instant Savings: Click this link if you would like to add instant savings to the explanation.
    • Mouse over the Instant Savings box in the equation and enter the following: Instant Savings Amount and choose whether the amount is dollars of or a percentage.
  • Coupon: Choose this if you would like to add a coupon to the explanation:
    • Mouse over the Coupon box in the equation and enter the following: Coupon Amount, Store Name and choose whether the amount is dollars of or a percentage.
  • Rebate: Choose this if you would like to add a rebate to the explanation:
    • Mouse over the Rebate box in the equation and enter the following: Rebate Amount, Store Name and choose whether the amount is dollars of or a percentage.

How do I remove a Deal Math Dealistration?
You can remove a Deal Math Dealistration by clicking on the "remove deal math Dealistration" link associated with the Dealistration you would like to remove when posting or revising a deal.

What does the Description need to include?
The description should include information about the deal that helps users understand its value or savings.

How do I revise a deal?
Just click on the "Revise a deal" link on any user's deal page. You need to be a member of the Dealio Community to revise a deal.

What information can I change when revising a deal?
You can change anything you like that will bring value to the deal. The information presented when revising a deal is the same as when posting a deal.

How do I view the revision history for a deal?
Click on the "history" link next to "Revise a deal" on the deal you are viewing. You can choose the version of the deal you would like to see. Each version is associated with a user and includes the revision date.

How can I revise a deal and set it to a previous version?
If you are the user who originally posted the deal, you have the option to "Set to this Version" after choosing which deal you'd like to roll back to. Dealio.com moderators can revise deals and set them to a previous version too.

How do I view a User's Profile?
Just click on the user icon or username wherever they are displayed on the site to view a user's profile page. The page displays the kind of deals the user is looking for or the deals they recently posted or liked.

How do I create and edit my User Profile?
When you are signed in, you can click the "My Profile" link at the top of the page. This will open your profile page as the community sees it. To create or edit your profile, click the "Edit your Profile" button at the bottom of your profile.

How do I change my Hometown?
You can change or update your hometown when you edit your profile.

How do I tell the community what deals I'm on the lookout for?
When you edit your profile, tell the community what deals you're into by adding them to the "My Kind of Deal" section.

How do I choose an Avatar for my User Profile?
You can choose from a pre-defined selection of avatars when you edit your profile. When you find the one you like, click on the radio button. If you have an image you want to display from a different Web site, just enter the URL of the image in the field provided. Be sure it's a direct link to an image file.
