Chic for Cheap: TOMS Shoes vs. Airwalk Hope Canvas Slip-On

Posted by Christine on July 8, 2011 in Daily Deals

It appears that TOMS Shoes have some serious competition from Payless. Exclusive to Payless is Airwalk Hope, a shoe that looks very similiar to TOMS Shoes. Payless even went as far to partner with World Vision to give away a pair of shoes to a needy child for every pair that is purchased in a program they call “The Good Shoe Project.” For those of you that are fans of TOMS Shoes, you are probably aware of their “One for One” program. For every pair of shoes sold, another is given to a child in need. Both get a big thumbs up from me for their charitable contributions.

Now let’s compare shoes. There is no doubt a big price difference. TOMS Classic Shoe averages around $55. The Airwalk Hope can be purchased for a mere $19.99. Factor in Payless Shoes frequent BOGO offers and coupon codes and they can be purchased for next to nothing.  Now we all know that if a shoe is not comfortable, it is not worth purchasing regardless of inexpensive it can be purchased. This is where the Airwalk Hope surprised me. While I have no personal experience, I did read reviews. The general consensus is that they are every bit as comfortable as the TOMS Shoes, with a few people going as far to say they are the most comfortable shoe they have ever owned.

The Airwalk Hope canvas slip on shoes are available in black, tan, navy, black glitter and silver glitter which should match just about any outfit in your closet.  For the budget conscious consumer, the Airwalk Hope is an inexpensive alternative to Toms shoes!
