Why aren’t there any 6pm coupons?

I am constantly asked by friends, family and co-workers:  why doesn’t 6pm offer any coupons?  My answer is always:  take a look at their already super low prices and you’ll see that they don’t need to further discount their products.  Basically, 6pm.com’s value proposition is that they offer merchandise from Zappos for up to 75% off. As a result, they hope that their brand reputation and association with Zappos will incite people to click.  Zappos, now owned by Amazon, is of a corporate mindset that the experience matters more than the price.  Therefore, you’ll notice that Zappos will also never offer coupons nor will they have huge markdowns on their prices.

One of my biggest complaints with 6pm is that they used to charge a fairly hefty shipping fee – $6.95.  If you’re saving 75% off on a pair of shoes, but have to pay $6.95 shipping, the deal gets sour pretty quickly (whether in actual cost or simply perception).  Luckily, the shipping fee is now just $2.95 (again, no coupon needed).  Also, I have noticed that the best time to shop on 6pm is during holidays as they will have a rare “free shipping” promotion.

Now that 6pm has expanded into clothing and accessories – I highly recommend all deal hunters to check there first.  I’ve gotten terrific deals on everything from flats to leggings.  Just because 6pm offer coupons doesn’t mean that the deal is any less good.
