Before we start wearing summer dresses and sandals, there’s about a month of warm-but-not-hot weather to dress for, and it can be confusing: It’s cold out when you leave for work, warm in the afternoon, and chilly again after dinner. Which is why we at SHEfinds have honed some specific spring strategies: In addition to following the best spring trends (of course), we always have these five items at the front of our closets.
1. White cardigan
We never have our cardigans too far away in spring time – it’s cold outside, it’s hot in your office, you need to cover up at work, etc. – and white is the perfect color for a spring topper: It goes with all of our seasonless black dresses, but also looks right next to cheerier, lighter colors we’ll wear when it’s even warmer.

2. Flat strappy sandals
These sorts of sandals can usually be found for not much cash, and they’ll collapse in your bag for easy travel – we slip them on when we’re walking from place to place in the afternoon sunshine, then switch back into heels when we reach our destination.

3. Skinny jeans
Skinny jeans are an essential in any season, and in the spring, we like that they’re covered-up enough for chilly days, but versatile enough to wear with a tee and flip flops. And when spring showers strike, we just tuck ours into a pair of chic rain boots and we’re off.

4. 3/4 sleeve blazer
We’ll throw our blazer over everything from floaty dresses to jeans and tanks in the spring, when layering is key. Plus, it’s a super easy way to look put-together for work when all you really want to do is wear your new spring clothes.

5. Light scarf
If you don’t want to commit to a cardigan, a light scarf is the perfect in-between cover-up: Loop it around your neck for style, or wrap it around your shoulders to keep warm.
