Saks Sale Alert: Save 80% + Free Shipping
Posted by missmelon on January 8, 2009 in Daily Deals
Saks Fifth Avenue has reduced their sale inventory by up to 80%. The good news is that you can score some smokin’ hot deals. The bad news is that the merchandise is selling out quickly. Like most things this good – you’ve got to cross some hurdles to score your prize. Saks’ hurdle is that their website is not updating inventory and showing items for sale when they are in fact sold-out. Therefore, my heart soared at the thought scooping up a pair of Chloe Irina Pointy Toe Pumps for only $98.95 (orig. $495) only to be terribly let down by the fact that they were already sold out. This happened time and time again (good thing I don’t easily waver on my hunt for the best deal). I leaped over these hurdles on your behalf, browsing tons of categories and brands to find these sale gems.
There is also a Saks coupon code you can use to get free shipping on all orders over $200 – SAKSFS. This sale ends in 4 days, but most of the good stuff won’t last that long, so hurry!
Kid’s Sale Pick – The North Face
Great selection and prices on The North Face outwear for children.
The North Face Nuptse Vest – $34.45 (Orig. $99)
Women’s Sale Pick – Juicy Couture
The iconic velour tracksuits are decently priced at around $60-$90. However, there were some great steals on sweaters.
Juicy Couture Puff Sleeve Sweater – $53.45 (Orig. $268)
Men’s Sale Pick – Cole Haan
Sorry guys, but the selection is fairly slim. If you’re quick, however, you can score a fantastic deal on Cole Haan shoes. Very limited sizes.
Cole Haan Doherty Slip On – $48.45 (Orig. $195)

New Year’s Resolution: Shop Smarter with Online Coupons
Posted by missmelon on January 2, 2009 in Money Saving Tips
Happy New Year from Dealio! Despite the grim news reports on the state of our economy, we’ve seen record breaking traffic and sales during Black Friday, Cyber Monday and After Christmas. More and more shoppers are turning to Dealio for outstanding deals, sale alerts and store coupons. Our goal this year is to help you make the most of your money – whether it’s wearing something chic for cheap or finding products that are good for the environment and your wallet – Dealio’s got you covered.
We know that not everyone is as obsessed with saving money as we are (phew). Lucky for you, we do all the hard work scouring the Internet for the best coupons and deals. If you can make three small shopping resolutions, you are well on your way to saving money and time.
Old Habit: You need toothpaste or moisturizer. You run to Target after work. $200 later, you’ve wasted an hour (or two) and spent $170 on “stuff” you probably didn’t need.
New Resolution #1: Buy all your beauty/health/pharmacy goods online at Drugstore.com or Amazon.com. Buying Oil of Olay moisturizer online was a strange concept until I noticed that Drugstore.com had the same price as Target. I also found my same moisturizer in bulk, at Amazon.com, for a few dollars less per bottle. This means that I don’t have to worry about running out & everything gets delivered to me, free of charge! The latter concept is the same reason why people pay hundreds of dollars to join Costco or Sam’s Club every year. And yet, if you’re a single person household, it is possible to get the same great items in bulk, including groceries, online without paying a “club” membership.
Old Habit: You work darn hard for your money. So, you deserve an impulse purchase here and there. Somehow, this leads to a hefty credit card bill that leaves very little of your hard earned money for saving.
New Resolution #2: Online boutiques don’t have the same overhead as retail stores. Therefore, they are able to offer merchandise for sale sooner and with a steeper discount than most stores. Shopbop.com is one of my favorites because they offer free shipping and tax-free shopping (for most states). That’s why you can purchase the Tory Burch Kerry Resin clutch (pictured above) for only $167.50 while Nordstrom still has it full-priced for $355.
Old Habit: You like dining out. And even when you’re trying “stay in”, there seems to an endless number of occasions to go out and celebrate. This all adds up to a full belly and a nice chunk of change at the end of the month.
New Resolution #3: I don’t cook and love eating out. This can be a dangerous combination in these belt cinching times. But, with help from Dealio and a great service called Restaurant.com, I can buy $25 gift certificates to all types of restaurants for only $10. Best of all, using Restaurant.com coupon codes found on Dealio, I can save up to 80% on these gift certificates. This means that I can buy a $25 gift certificate for just $2! This allows me to try new restaurants and try the filet mignon while maintaining a chicken breast budget.
If you’re having a hard time remembering all these resolutions, just do one thing: Check Dealio before making any purchase. Have additional money saving tips? We’d love to hear them so leave a comment below.
