Baby Scoop: Shi Shu Natural Bamboo Baby Blankets

Posted by Colleen on January 13, 2009 in Babies & Kids

If you’re like me, you’re hearing more and more about all the chemicals in baby products; and if you’re like me, you may find all that information alarming. It seems you can’t turn on the news or the computer today without hearing about the detriments of plastic baby bottles, toys made with toxic paint, recalls and so much more!  I have done a little research on this and never realized that there are so many alternatives out there for your baby and your home in organics!

For example, I found these soft, handwoven baby blankets and throws made from all natural bamboo blankets made by Shi Shu Style, these baby blankets were designed with conscientious parents in mind.  Shi Shu Style crafts luxurious blankets made only of natural fibers like bamboo and cotton.  You might be asking, “why bamboo”?  Turns out bamboo is not only extremely durable, but it is also naturally antibacterial, soft, keeps one warm in winter and cool in summer and it has great breathability.  Prices for Shi Shu Style Baby blankets range from $29 for a 16″x16″ snuggler to $88 for a 30″ x 40″ blanket.

I can already tell that this is also one of these blankets that I know I’ll want to borrow from my little one.  Good news is that Shi Shu Style now offers a line of bamboo/cotton blankets that are comfortable and free of chemicals and unnatural fibers.  Not to mention, the Shi Shu Home Classic throw was the premier gift in the 66th Annual Golden Globe gift bags on January 11, 2009; snuggle up with the same blanket as Brad Pitt!!  You can’t beat that!
