Fashion Scoop: Anya Hindmarch for Target

Anya Hindmarch has just released a new line for Target! Hindmarch is a British handbag designer most famous for the “I’m Not a Plastic Bag” campaign, in which she used her influence as a well regarded designer to promote environmental awareness. She collaborated to design “I’m not a plastic bag” canvas totes to be used instead of plastic bags by stylish and environmentally conscious shoppers. The bags sold out right away, and were even used as goody bags at the Oscars!

Hindmarch, the 2006 and 2007 Glamour “Designer of the Year” award winner teamed up with Target to design a classic collection of clutches, purses and bags with several color schemes. According to Target, “Internationally acclaimed designer Anya Hindmarch knows what women want: Handbags that showcase craftsmanship and an approachable sense of style.” Especially with during economic crisis, we can’t sacrificing our savings on trends, but with this line we don’t need to! Free Chipotle Burrito and Last-Minute Halloween Costume Ideas

Halloween is just around the corner, and many of us haven’t gotten around to finding a costume yet!
Remember, Chipotle gives FREE BURRITOS on Halloween to any customers dressed up as any of their products (burrito, taco, salad!) You can simply cover yourself in tin foil, or get more creative but either way free Chipotle is a great way to start out a wonderful Halloween night!

Here are some other last minute ideas that incorporate items already in your closet:
-Sports fan/player: Wear your favorite player’s jersey, gym shorts, sneakers and an armband.
-Cowgirl: I know I’m not the only one who still has her cowboy boots… Wear a dress, braid your hair, draw some freckles with eyeliner and throw on a cowboy hat!
-Greek Goddess: Break out those gladiator sandals you wore all summer and pair it up with some old sheets to make a toga.
-Decades (50s, 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s): Many of us are now of the age at which we are seeing old trends come back again. Certainly the sentimental side of you saved your favorite high school attire?

Fashion Scoop: Norma Kamali at Wal-Mart!

Norma Kamali, who has been in the fashion industry for 40 years, has recently designed an affordable, versatile line for Walmart that fits any budget! Kamali has been a designing swim wear, dresses and clothes for her New York City shop since graduating from FIT with a degree in fashion illustration in 1964. Her minimalist designs are not only flattering, but incredible comfortable, regardless of the occassion.

Normally, Norma Kamali pieces will begin at about $300 each. For her Walmart line, however, all items are less than $20 which is an unbelievable steal. The new line is available at both your local Walmart and online (97 cent shipping!). Her designs consist of basic red and black fabrics, with simple, sleek, stylish cuts. The best part? Besides catering to fashionistas with any budget, many of the items are made from organic cotton; that is cotton harvested without the use of pesticides, which pollute the environment and can irritate the skin.

I was actually suprised to see the same stone detailing on the Target collection flats that appears on the more pricey pairs.
