Fashion Scoop: Gladiator Sandals for Every Budget

Gladiator sandals are definitely the “it” shoe this summer. All the celebs have been seen wearing them, and they certainly would add a little flair to a simple outfit, except. Unlike many shoe trends (let’s recall, painfully, the 5″ heel trend), gladiators are comfortable and fairly versatile. They go with any outfit, be it the extra long maxi dresses everyone is currently wearing, or, as I prefer them, with shorts or jeans. I don’t recommend splurging on these; get a cheaper pair and enjoy them while they and the weather are still hot! We found gladiator sandals on sale for every budget!

Fashion or Faux Pas:? Design a Coach Tote Contest

Check out the “Design a Coach Tote” contest taking place now on Brickfish! Entries must be done using the Coach tote template provided. Persons thirteen years or older may submit any combination of their own original artwork and classic Coach signatures and logos. The winner will receive a $1,000 online shopping spree.
On one hand, I appreciate the allure of having one’s own design sold as a limited edition item by a high-end and popular brand. On the other hand, however, I wonder how much “credit” Coach will give to the winner especially considering the fortune Coach could be making.
Either way, the template is fun to work with and you never know - perhaps you could be the winner! Contest ends August 4th.

Shop Green: Urban Outfitters Eco-Friendly Book Deals

Urban Outfitters has unlined journals on sale in store for $1.99 and online for $4.99 each (orig. $10). Made in the United States using 100% post consumer recycled paper. They are manufactured using green energy and without the use of acid or chlorine. I got a bunch to give as gifts to my environmentally-conscious friends, and a few to keep myself. This is also a great addition to your back-to-school list so that you can jot down your brilliant ideas on saving the world.
I also picked up It’s Easy Being Green, which was on sale for $7.99 (orig. $12.95). It’s a quick read and has over 250 “eco-tips” to cultivate a sustainable enviornment. What I like about this book is that it’s meant for busy people…busy people who’ve been thinking about doing something for the environment, but hasn’t for whatever reason. This book is not only informative, but also helps you in planning and executing a greener lifestyle with.
